We are delighted to confirm Scott Millar has been appointed to the Hibernian Supporters board following a successful nomination process at our AGM earlier this week.
Scott is a long-time Hibs fan with a successful career in financial services running alongside his regular support of the Hibees.
With lots of exciting projects to look forward to over the next 18 months, Scott strengthens the Hibernian Supporters board at a really important time.
Scott is looking forward to getting involved as the club moves into its 150th year, and he is ambitious about the role Hibernian Supporters can play in engaging the wider fanbase and helping the club to improve on and off the pitch.
He said: “I am honoured and delighted to be voted onto the Board of Directors, it’s a huge privilege and I aim to do the role the justice that it deserves. It goes without saying that I come from a family of Hibs fans and I’ve attended on a home and away basis since the mid 80s.
“Whilst I do have a sound 30 year financial services background, my main ambition is to lead a communication strategy which makes Hibernian Supporters relevant to every Hibs fan.
“I want people to ‘get’ why they should become a member and why it’s just as important today, in our 150th year, as it will be when we approach future milestones.
“By growing Hibernian Supporters, the opportunity to support the club, and keep true to our stated aim of increasing the shareholding, is a remarkable opportunity and one which I’ll do my best to deliver alongside the other directors and the wider Hibs community.”
Hibernian Supporters chairman Jim Adie is delighted to have Scott on board, and he is looking forward to seeing the impact he can have as we move forward.
“It’s brilliant that Scott has put himself forward for nomination and we are really pleased to welcome him on to the board, with fresh enthusiasm and ideas that we are keen to lean on as the club moves into a hugely significant season.
“We are committed to engaging with all of our members, and to reach out a hand to lapsed and new contributors in order to do all we can to support the club.
“We discussed some of the really exciting things we have coming up at our AGM earlier in the week and it’s excellent to have another experienced pair of hands to help the efforts of Hibernian Supporters in the years ahead.
“The more we can encourage fans to get involved, the more we can do to back the club we all love.”
Welcome aboard, Scott!
