We are delighted to confirm that Hibernian Supporters will be the match sponsor for next week’s SWPL clash between Hibernian and Glasgow City at Meadowbank.

This will be the first time in our seven-year history that we have been official sponsors of a Hibernian match and we are delighted to support the women’s team as they embark on an exciting journey at their new home at Meadowbank.

As part of the match sponsorship, members have the chance to win two pairs of tickets to the brand-new hospitality offering at Meadowbank Stadium and we will also be giving fans the chance to win the squad signed shirt which will be presented to Hibernian Supporters at the match next week.

The opt-in window for the Glasgow City fixture will run alongside the Pioneers draw for the men’s team against Aberdeen and members can opt-in for both matches before 5pm on Sunday 11th September.

Chris Gaunt, Hibernian FC finance director is looking forward to the match next week. The women’s team are set to wear the club’s popular black third kit for the first time this season and supporters are being encouraged to wear black to the game.

“This game features the two most decorated programmes in Scottish women’s football history, so it’s always a match we circle at fixture release. We then decided to keep the match on a Wednesday night so the fixture could be showcased under the lights in our new home at Meadowbank.

“We are thrilled to have Hibernian Supporters Limited as our match sponsor. It shows a further commitment to the club, and will help jumpstart our growing fanbase as the Women’s team starts its first season fully integrated into the football club.  

“We hope this generates more interest in the women’s game, and as many people show up on Wednesday night dressed in black and make the atmosphere electric.”
