We are pleased to confirm Hibernian Supporters Ltd (HSL) has invested a further six figure sum in Hibernian FC following the club’s recent share issue.
The investment has allowed Hibernian Supporters Ltd to maintain our 7% shareholding in the club, while providing important financial support to Hibernian FC ahead of the new season.
Our ability to make this investment has only been possible because of the continued support we receive from members, making monthly contributions to us with donations being used to purchase shares.
Our recent Raise the Game initiative set an ambitious target of investing £250,000 in the club within a 12 month period to support the playing budget, and our recent participation in the club’s share issue has allowed us to take a significant step towards this goal.
By purchasing shares, Hibernian FC receives the purest form of investment possible, with every penny going directly to the club.
In order to meet – and exceed – our target over the next 12 months, we are relying on Hibs fans to join (and rejoin) us with an affordable direct debit contribution.
Aside from our very modest running costs, fans can rest assured that all funds received by Hibernian Supporters will be invested in the football club.
Chairman Jim Adie said: “We are pleased to be in a position to make a further investment in the club at an important time of year, with the new season on the horizon and summer transfer window in full swing.
“While David Gray has been strengthening the squad ahead of the European qualifiers kicking off this week, we are thankful to members who continue to support us and allow us to carry on our backing of the club.
“Our recent investment means we have been able to maintain our shareholding level while putting money into the heart of the football budget – and we’d encourage all Hibs fans to consider helping us to keep this up going forward by joining us.”
