Last week we celebrated the start of the new ScottishPremiership season by offering new Hibernian Supporters contributors the chance to win 2 x free season tickets for the 2020/21 season.
The season ticket draw was made on Monday with brand new contributor Alan Dickson’s name pulled from the hat.
Alan was very pleased to win a free season ticket after signing up to Hibernian Supporters last week. Along with over 1000 others Alan has been a part of a recent surge in donators, with record contributions made to the club in June and July.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be the season ticket winner. I saw the article about the monthly donations and felt that it was the right time to get involved.
“Revenue across football is going to be tight, the staff who run the club day to day will be going through challenging and uncertain times, so every contribution helps. With Hibernian Supporters monthly donations going to the playing staff it perhaps takes some financial pressure off elsewhere in the club.
“It’s all about getting through the next few months at the moment. Hibs are a well-run club and I am sure we will come out of it ok.”
With over £30,000 donated to Hibernian at the end of July, Alan is pleased to see interest in Hibernian Supporters growing as the new season kicked off. He hopes that continued contributions will allow the club to be competitive for the season ahead.
“It feels good to see the numbers increasing. Hearts and Aberdeen have well established supporter contribution schemes and given that financially they are our nearest rivals, we can’t afford to be left behind.
“Hopefully the numbers at Hibernian Supporters will keep growing giving us an edge in the transfer market and on the pitch.”
Like all Hibs fans, Alan is looking forward to seeing supporters back at Easter Road. He is hopeful the club can push for European football come the end of the season while also holding a sneaky suspicion that we could do well in the cup.
“Main hope is simply to see fans safely back at Easter Road enjoying football. A top four finish is definitely achievableand I have a wee feeling since the performances in the Dundee United replay and Inverness tie, that we were on course to win the Scottish Cup again.”
