Hibernian Supporters everywhere are very saddened this morning to hear the dreadful news of the passing of Rod Petrie, at the age of 69.
Rod played a pivotal role during the stewardship of the Club by Sir Tom Farmer and we have much to thank him for the Stadium and other incredible infrastructure now at our disposal.
At all times Rod worked tirelessly to make Hibs better, and while not a born and bred Hibee, he fell in love with our Club and became one of our best supporters. Indeed, we all remember his exuberant support of his fellow fans just after winning the Scottish Cup, and he represented us well on all occasions at all levels.
Rod was also instrumental in the formation of our own organisation and indeed we enjoyed his personal support. We are sure all of our members, as well as the wider Hibernian support, will wish to join us in offering our condolences to Rod’s family and friends at this sad time.
He was, always Hibs.
